SUPPORT EVENTS MOSAIC TILES

The Mosaic Tile

Our first year was a huge success thanks to the many individuals and organizations that are now a part of our Founder’s Circle.

We especially thank the following companies and foundations for their leadership in supporting us as we got off the ground;

J. Walton Design (Logo design, event invitations) http://www.jwaltondesign.com

Nonni’s Food Company, Inc. http://www.nonnis.com

Allegra Printing Company (Printing Grant) http://www.allegranetwork.com

AIDS Foundation of Chicago (Kenya Initiative)  http://www.aidschicago.org

As we move to our second year, we invite all people to become Tiles of the Mosaic by contributing $250 or more in 2007.  Each tile adds to the beauty of what can be in this world.

It takes courage to commit to something new and untested, and we will be forever indebted to them for taking the leap of faith with us.

Purchase through Giveline and support Mosaic.

Founders Contact Information:

BRAD OGILVIE, Founder

The Founder, Brad Oglivie has been living with HIV for 20 years, and has over 23 years in social service experience, the last 12 in HIV/AIDS.  He has a unique vision and passion that transcends boarders and boundaries as he has not only worked locally, but internationally (in rural Kenya).   He has the instinctive ability to look at HIV from the "inside out, as well as the outside-in".  This has formed the basis for the work of the organizations.  He has been featured in the Chicago Tribune and on Chicago Public Radio for his work and passion to the mission.  In December, 2005, Brad was nominated for the National HIV/AIDS Partnership's Preventions Awards.

CATHY HETRICK, Director

Partnered with Cathy Hetrick, a mother of three teenagers who is committed to seeing that her children and their generation do not get HIV and who worked with Mr. Ogilvie at their previous organization, they are dedicated to the vision that we can end the spread of HIV.  A life-long resident of Wheaton, she brings this commitment and enthusiasm to all that she does in churches, schools, business networks, The Wheaton Chamber of Commerce and The Wheaton Rotary Club.

After having spent the past seven years as Director and Volunteer Coordinator, respectively, of a local service organization, they have left to establish TMI ,to continue this work ,but with a clear focus on prevention. In their commitment to establishing TMI, Brad and Cathy are making the statement that, while treatment is vital to ending the spread of HIV, truly effective prevention must be autonomous of treatment while working in close partnership with treatment organizations.  In almost all cases, prevention programs are run under the auspices of treatment organizations, which create an inherent conflict with effective        prevention, as witnessed by the need to keep case loads full, and the fact that treatment is more easily quantifiable to administrators. As told by one prospective founder from a healthcare organization, the challenge to prevention is there is no financial return on the  investment.
